Inward

New Orleans is a tourist destination with a reputation for good food, good music, and good times. Unfortunately, the city also attracts tourists for a few reasons that are not all that good. Redeeming Bourbon Street and other areas of town that cater to some of those attractions seems like an insurmountable task, but showing the love of Jesus to the people who work there is a small step toward that task. Each woman of Inward is deeply committed to taking that step.

So what do we do? We pray. We go right into the clubs and hand out chocolates and other small gifts with notes of encouragement and Scripture. We listen to the stories of the women we meet. When a doorway to showing God’s love opens up, we go through it. Our objective is simple: whatever God would have us do to address the needs of women and children being exploited in the New Orleans sex industry.

Our location varies. One week we meet at FBNO to pray, the next we go out, the next week we meet at Edgewater Baptist Church to pray, the next we go out. On the weeks that we go out, there is always a group that prays while the others go to the clubs and share the love of Jesus. This schedule varies even more when we have the opportunity to host an event in one of the clubs.

Time: Wednesday nights, 8:00 pm
On prayer nights, we usually wrap up around 9:30 pm. On the nights that we go out, it is more like 10:30 pm.
