At FBNO we believe that the Christian life is best lived in community with other believers who are committed to both supporting and challenging each other. FBNO LifeGroups exist to be this kind of community.
LifeGroups consist of 8-14 people that gather together on a weekly basis in their community (host home, community center, restaurant, etc.) and seek to learn, love, and live-out their Christian faith at home, at school, and even in the workplace.
Though the structure, parameters, location, time, and learning materials will vary from group to group, each LifeGroup has a three-fold focus:
Learn – The word translated disciple in the New Testament literally means learner. One of the primary reasons FBNO Life Groups exist is to create an environment in which people develop into life-long learners, committed to the study and practice of God’s Word.
Love – In John 13:35, Jesus tells his disciples, “By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” Consequently, FBNO Life Groups exist to care both inwardly, for their small group family, and outwardly, for the lost and hurting in our city.
Live –Jesus’ call to his followers was not simply “sit here and listen,” but “come, follow me.” Based on this example, FBNO Life Groups exist to foster growth in the context of shared life experiences. Whether it be a shared meal or a shared mission, FBNO Life Groups do life together.
