Worship & Music Ministry
The purpose of the music and worship ministry of FBNO is to glorify God through excellence in worship and through nurturing a culture of worship within our church.
Worship at FBNO is characterized by energy and passion, freedom and intensity. We desire to be a church that is comfortable praising God with joyful clapping and hands raised high while also being able to experience still and quiet moments of reverence and awe. We serve a creative God who deserves our creativity. Our band features musicians with a variety of backgrounds from jazz and rock to classical. Since the core of our band is made up of New Orleans jazz musicians, we pursue a sound that represents our local musical flavor. Modern praise songs and ancient hymns take on a different flavor in our band that we hope represents the great city where we live. Join us for worship and experience it yourself. So You Think You Can Sing?
Even if you don’t think you can sing, we want to invite you to sing in our Men’s Choir and
Women’s Choir on August 8 and 15. The men will meet on the 8th and the women on the 15th.
Both choirs will meet in the sanctuary at 9:00 on the morning they sing to practice a song that
the congregation sings and that will be easy to join in the joyful noise. No experience is
necessary.
