There are so many things that I value about family and the way my parents raised me. But, one of the things that stands out, especially during the Christmas season, is their commitment to go and serve and to bring my sister and me along (and yes that is a keytar around my neck). They chose early on to model for us what a life of loving and serving looked like. They took us to places that were out of our comfort zones and challenged us to be the hands, feet, smiles, and high-fives of Jesus.
Allye and I have chosen to try and replicate this for our family. Whenever we are able, we take Ruby and Lucy with us to sing or make crafts for our friends at Jefferson HealthCare. Or we take them to serve food and greet neighbors at the Elysian Fields ministry. We are being challenged this year to follow Jesus who “Came down for Christmas.” How can you, your friends, and your family follow Jesus this Christmas? We’d love to have you at one of our Care Effect Christmas parties this Wednesday. You can sign up on the table under the Care Effect wall.
