Creative Arts Camp (CAC) is an exciting experience for your child who has completed 1st-6th grade. The goal of CAC is for your child to get a taste of arts: visual arts, dance, Bible art journaling, woodworking, exposure to instruments, singing and basic music theory through professional artists. CAC meets Monday-Friday, 12:30-4:00 pm immediately following VBS - with the exception of Friday. On Friday, CAC will end promptly at 3:00 pm. The musical will include dance, a sign language choir (1st-3rd graders), and singing and will be presented at Family Night, Thursday evening at 6:00 pm.
This year our musical performance is "In the Wild." If your child is interested in auditioning for the cast, here is what you need to know:
1. The Drama Audition will be held on Saturday, June 29 from 10:00 am-12:00 pm. We will meet in the adult choir room which is directly behind the sanctuary. Parents, please plan to stay for the duration of the auditions.
2. Campers do not have to be memorized, but being extremely prepared is highly suggested. Here is the script: In the Wild Script.
3. MANDATORY staging rehearsal will be on Saturday, July 13 from 9:00 am-12:30 pm at FBNO. All cast members are required to attend. If your child is unable to attend this mandatory staging rehearsal, please do not audition for the drama.
Each child (registered by July 7) will receive a CAC t-shirt. Each family will receive a rehearsal CD of the music which is included in the registration packet. DVDs of the musical can be ordered the evening of the performance (Thursday, July 18) for $5 each (additional fees for postage).
Solo Auditions will be on Tuesday, July 16 after CAC, from 4:00-4:30 pm in the choir room. The songs can be found on YouTube - just type in "VBS 2019 - In the Wild" in your search. We will announce the songs for the solos soon!
Children attending CAC must bring a bag lunch each day.
Registering for CAC does not register you for VBS.
Registration for CAC is not complete until payment is made. Registration fees are non-refundable.
