10 Years of Caring

08.16.19 | by Andrew Crosby

Matthew 25:37-39 says, “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink?  When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you?   When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’”

Then verse 40 says, “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’”

For ten years FBNO has put this idea into action through the Care Effect.  In 2009 the church asked, “what would it look like if we as a church went into ‘the city that care forgot’ and cared for the hurting in this city with the love of God?” So FBNO developed the Care Effect as a way to equip and provide opportun-ities for our church to gather at FBNO and then GO to the need in our city.

Over these ten years we’ve averaged about 80 volunteers per week feeding the hungry, welcoming the stranger, giving water to the thirsty, visiting the sick and the prisoner, comforting the lonely, and offering hope to the hopeless.  Over 40,000 volunteer hours have been dedicated to sharing the love of Jesus in word and action by people just like you.  There’s a place for you to experience the power of caring.

         Thank you for Caring.
