GO 2020

02.27.20 | by Andrew Crosby

I love hearing the stories of our teams that serve Jesus in the city each week through the Care Effect. Some weeks they fill me with joy and some weeks they break my heart. But every time they remind me that God is moving in our community and that we get to join in the work of the Kingdom.

Our team at Rivarde gets to hear stories from kids who are hurting. They listen, they read scripture, they pray together, and they remind these kids that they are deeply loved by God.

Fuel the Future volunteers lovingly pack food bags and include encouraging notes for the hungry students in our community.

Our volunteers at the nursing home visit, sing songs, lead Bible studies, and pray with residents. They remind these individuals that they are precious and not forgotten.

Our ESL volunteers teach classes but also get to be a consistent voice of comfort and encouragement for individuals who are living in a new and foreign land.

Inward volunteers show dignity and respect to women while reminding them that they are loved by God.

New Orleans Mission volunteers get to mentor and disciple ladies who are seeking Christ.

Central City volunteers play, dance, and share stories with kids. They get to show these kids what new life in Christ looks like.

Our team at OPP gets to spend time with prisoners who are written off by most to remind them that they are important and loved by God.

Our VA ministry goes into the hospital to remind these veterans that they are not alone, they are valuable, and they are loved by God.

The OZ volunteers get to serve food to the hungry while looking them in the eye and reminding them that they bear God’s image

What role will you play in the work of God’s Kingdom right here in our city?
