To the amazing women who nurtured us, sacrificed for us, and protected us no matter what—today, we honor you!
For many of us, “Mom” is the woman that birthed us. For some, she is a family member such as an older sister, aunt, grandmother, or godmother that raised us. And for others, she’s a legal guardian, foster mom, adoptive mom, or mentor that took us in as their own, creating an intimate unbreakable bond just as strong, and oftentimes stronger, than blood relationship.
Wherever one may fit on this spectrum, know that mothers are deserving of our love, respect, and admiration each and every day, not just once a year on Mother’s Day. And for those of us whose mothers have passed on to eternity, we honor Mom’s memory and faithfully carry on her legacy. You will never hear me claim any level of expertise on the subject on motherhood, but one thing I know, there is nothing on earth quite like a mother’s love…
“A Mother’s Love”
A mother's love is something that no one can explain,
It is made of deep devotion, and of sacrifice, and pain.
It is endless and unselfish, and enduring, come what may,
For nothing can destroy it or take that love away.
It believes beyond believing when the world around condemns,
And it glows with all the beauty of the rarest, brightest gems.
It is far beyond defining, it defies all explanation,
And it still remains a secret like the mysteries of creation
A many splendored miracle man cannot understand,
And another wondrous evidence of God's tender guiding hand.
