We live in a broken world, we are all broken, and sometimes it can feel like we are the only ones struggling to figure out how to put the pieces back together.
Last week, students took in-depth looks at God’s perfect design, the inherent brokenness in all of us due to sin, the power of turning from sin, and the restoration that comes only through the healing power of Jesus Christ.
It’s an incredibly special thing to worship with hundreds of other teens from all over the country, led by college students and young adults who have set aside their summer to pour into teens. When you throw in less sleep than usual, a packed-in schedule, all the fun things you can think of, and a high heat index, there is a lot of room to allow the Holy Spirit to work when our tank is empty.
Jesus modeled for his disciples the importance of retreating daily into the refuge of intentional time with the Lord. However, we often forget the importance of regular, personal or group retreating by pulling out of the regular routines and schedules of our lives, and intentionally focusing on our own spiritual growth.
Thanks FBNO for prioritizing the spiritual development of our students through camps, retreats, and missional experiences!!
