What to Expect

Whether you’ve just moved to New Orleans and are looking for a church home, or you haven't been to church in a while, we know that going to a new church can be challenging. Here's what you can expect when you visit FBNO.

What COVID-19 safety precautions are in place?

In order to safely gather together for worship, we ask that you wear a mask or face covering and provide adequate physical distance between yourself and others while at First Baptist New Orleans. These precautions are now optional for fully vaccinated adults.

Please continue to monitor your health for common symptoms of COVID-19 (fever, shortness of breath, etc.) before arriving at church.

What about my children?

We offer worship care for infants through kindergarten-aged children. We look forward to providing your children with a safe, loving, positive experience while learning about Jesus.

We also have a worship service designed specifically for children in grades 1-4. Your children can join you in the worship center for the beginning of the service and can follow our children's ministry leaders to Room 103 when they are dismissed for Kids' Worship.

Is there a dress code?

At FBNO, it's not about what you look like or what you wear. We want you to feel comfortable. Whether that's jeans and a t-shirt, business casual, or a suit and tie, you'll fit right in here.

As you enter the worship center.

We've got a team of friendly faces to welcome and assist you as you arrive. Feel free to ask them for assistance at any point during the service.

During the worship service.

You are welcome here. We won't put you on the spot or call you to the front. We will provide you with any information you need. We won't ask you to give any money.

What is the service like?

We worship at 9:30 on Sunday mornings. You’ll experience energetic worship led by Ricky Draper and our worship band. Pastor Chad Gilbert will share an inspirational message that will encourage you and help you to live out your faith in Jesus in your daily life. Our services last approximately 75 minutes.

After the service.

We would love to meet you. Feel free to talk to one of the ministers or counselors available during the response time in our service. Or, if you prefer, you can text "new" to 504.290.0741 to receive a brief connect card and have a minister follow up with you. We would love to talk to you about how you can get involved at FBNO.
