We have been praying for over a year that God would align our hearts with His—so that we might elevate Gospel hope for the flourishing of our neighborhoods, New Orleans, and all nations. One way this prayer is taking shape is through a focused initiative: Loving Our Neighbors.
Flourishing disciples love God by loving their neighbors. To grow in this aspect of discipleship, we are committing to step outside our own neighborhoods at least four times a year, engaging in a three-pronged approach: 1) Praying, 2) Serving, and 3) Sharing the Gospel.
In partnership with local churches in each neighborhood, we engage—because flourishing disciples also love God by loving the Church—we focus our efforts over a three-month period. During this time, we pray, serve, and share the Gospel together in that specific community. In May, June, and July we’ll focus on Kenner and partner with La Viña Iglesia Bautista Hispana and Pastor Geovany Gomez.
Join us as we pray for the community surrounding La Viña.
We'll gather together to prayer walk through the neighborhoods near the church, praying for families, homes, and hearts while handing out invitations to the church’s upcoming Vacation Bible School.
We’re partnering with La Viña to support their community-wide BBQ and Water Day Celebration to cap off their week of Vacation Bible School. Volunteers are needed to assist with safety and support at activities throughout the event.
All volunteers must be Safe Ministry certified.
Join us as we share the love of Christ in the Kenner community. We’ll gather at Wentwood Playground, where we’ll begin in prayer and divide into teams. From there, we’ll go into the surrounding neighborhoods for door-to-door ministry.
Our goal is to connect with residents by offering prayer, engaging in Gospel-centered conversations,
and extending personal invitations to both La Viña and FBNO. This is a great opportunity to step out in faith, build relationships, and practice our value of bold proclamation.
